It's Time to Have Your Home's HVAC System InspectedRegular inspection of your HVAC system is highly recommended to prevent system failures, to ensure optimal operation and for reducing utility and repair bills. While you may undertake simple inspections yourself, professional inspection is preferred. Professionals are more thorough and experienced and can make recommendations by detecting hard-to-notice or imminent problems.

If your HVAC system hasn’t been inspected by a professional for more than an year, have one completed ASAP. Regular professional inspection and maintenance offers several benefits, including:

  • Improved indoor air quality: Buildup of dust and contaminants in your ductwork can reduce air quality and cause allergic reactions and breathing problems. Mold buildup can also pose serious health problems.
  • Increased HVAC system efficiency: Better efficiency can result if you home’s HVAC system operates optimally to reduce fuel consumption.
  • Reduced emergency repairs: Regular maintenance ensures system problems are caught and rectified earlier, increasing the lifespan of your home’s HVAC system.

If your furnace is noisy, have it inspected by an HVAC specialist immediately. Some causes of noisy furnaces, like a disconnected blower fan or a worn out motor bearing, can cause more extensive damage if left unrepaired for a long period of time.

If you notice any mold growth in your home or signs of pests, have your HVAC system inspected immediately. Mold and pests pose serious health risks, which require professional services for your safety.

An unusually high utility bill can be an indicator of an underlying problem with your home’s HVAC system. This can be from a leak, dirt buildup, ineffective burners or other malfunctions. Professionals can quickly track down the cause of high energy bills, and fix the problem so you can enjoy great efficiency and comfort.

  • I had no clue getting my HVAC system checked out could be so beneficial! I definitely think it’d be a good idea. I always live by the motto ‘it’s better to be safe rather than sorry’ and I think that definitely applies here. It’d be a great idea to get that done.

  • Increased HVAC system efficiency sounds pretty nice to me! My system doesn’t seem to run quite as well as it should, so I’ll definitely have to get it inspected in the next couple weeks. It’d be so nice to have it running better than it does right now. I just hope that it won’t take major repairs to get it to that point.

  • I agree, it’s important to have the HVAC system in your house inspected every year to keep it in working order. If I decided to have my HVAC looked at by a professional sooner, then I wouldn’t have as many problems with it as I do right now. Once everything is back to working order, I’ll make sure to hire someone to inspect it at least once a year, just like you suggested.
